Our Story
Neiden Resort began with a journey up north.
In 2024, Arttu, one of our founding members, travelled by snowmobile with a group of friends from Rovaniemi to the Arctic Ocean. As they crossed the border near Neiden, the landscape changed in a way that left a lasting impression. The quiet forests of Lapland opened into the dramatic fjord scenery of Northern Norway.
That moment planted the first idea for Neiden Resort: a place where the beauty of Lapland’s Arctic forests and the breathtaking views of the Norwegian fjords could meet.
Later, Arttu wanted to show his friend Juuso Neiden and the Arctic Ocean. Together with Jan-Kåre Sivertsen, a local from Neiden with Sámi roots and a member of the family behind Neiden Fjellstue, they explored the area’s best salmon fishing spots and went sea fishing in Bugøynes.
For Juuso, who had previous experience in Lapland tourism and development projects in Levi, the trip made the vision feel possible. After returning home, the real work began: developing the concept, securing financing, and moving the construction and land planning process forward.
About a year later, the Neiden Resort website was launched, financing was secured, the necessary permits were acquired, and Juuso became the resort’s CEO and first employee. Since then, the ownership group has grown from the original trio Arttu, Juuso, and Jan-Kåre stronger with experience from tourism, business, and development.
“We are truly excited to bring a new kind of concept to the growing Arctic travel and noctourism market, and to support the development of tourism in Kirkenes and Finnmark region. Our goal is clear: we want to build Neiden Resort with deep respect for the surrounding nature, the local community, the Arctic way of life and make this Arctic fjord experience accessible to guests from around the world.”
